Sgt. Horror: What was the first horror movie you’ve ever watched?
Elliott Fullam: The very first horror movie I ever watched was actually when I was younger, and that was House of 1000 Corpses, an all-time classic. Of course, rest in Peace, Sid Haig. So yeah, that was my very first one. I watched all sorts of horror movies at that age. Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors was one of my all-time favorites when I was younger.
Sgt. Horror: What did you think now after the success of Terrifier 2, you’re here at Mad Monster, sitting right across from Bill Moseley. How’s that been?
Elliott Fullam: Oh, it’s been cool. Really, really cool. I mean, I have to give so much credit to the fans for making all this happen. I mean, just the fact that this movie blew up, I owe so much to the fans. I will never, ever take a day, any day, for granted, and I’ve been loving Mad Monster Expo. It’s been fun, and also, talking and hanging out with Bill Moseley was really, really cool. I’ve known him from past conventions, but it’s been just an all-around blast.
Sgt. Horror: How did you get cast for Terrifier 2?
Elliott Fullam: So I did four auditions, and we found this on Actors’ Access. My dad saw it on a website for Terrifier 2. It was like, oh my God, we love Terrifier. So, we submitted the audition. We just sent pictures, and they liked it. I did a self-tape of me just doing the lines, and then I did a call-back in-person audition for my second one with Damien and Lauren. That’s when I first met Lauren and Damien, and then I waited weeks. It was like, ah, I guess I didn’t get the role or whatever. I was like, ah, I thought I did a good job. And then I got another self-tape randomly of a scream test of me just screaming. Then the final audition was at the Producer’s house, Phil, and it went well, and I got the role.
Sgt. Horror: What advice do you have for aspiring actors?
Elliott Fullam: My biggest advice for any actor, actress, filmmaker, anything, is that no one on this planet has your brain. There’s nothing more unique to this planet than you. If you have a vision for something or a way someone can act, no one can act like you because you’re yourself. No one can make a movie like you because you’re yourself. So go with your gut, and never stop because your art is valuable to this planet because no one else can make it.
Sgt. Horror: What’s your favorite classic monster? Dracula? Frankenstein Wolfman.
Elliott Fullam: I would say I love Creature. Creature from the Black Lagoon and Wolfman. Those two are kind of my favorites, without a doubt. I just got a Famous Monsters Creature shirt at one of the booths here.
Sgt. Horror: One of the things about Art the Clown is he never talks. But if he did talk, what do you think he would say?
Elliott Fullam: Oh, I think he would just say the wildest things. I think he would just be goofing off the entire time, maybe making a mockery of it all by laughing, saying you like my glasses, blah, blah, blah. I think you’ll be having a good time.
Sgt. Horror: In the future, do you see yourself ever getting behind a camera and directing?
Elliott Fullam: Oh, that’s a great question. I would love to at some point, but I feel like I need to make my way. I need to climb my way to that point if my road ever goes to that. So maybe one day, if it’s in my future, if it happens, it happens. I might eventually make a fun short horror movie or maybe just regular drama with my girlfriend at some point, but nothing is fully confirmed; who knows what happens.
Sgt. Horror: So can you confirm or deny, or is there going to be a Terrifier 3. And are you going to be in it?
Elliott Fullam: Yes, there will be a Terrifier 3. I think right now it’s in pre-production, but don’t take my word fully for that. I know Damien is working on the script, and yes, I will be in it.
Sgt. Horror: That’s awesome. Appreciate you letting us interview you.
