Since 2017, fans have been calling for the release of the infamous Snyder Cut of the Justice League. It has been the subject of fierce online debates. Supporters of the Snyder Cut started the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement across social media platforms. Some fans argue that the Snyder Cut didn’t exist, while others speculated that it would never see the light of day. This week, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures announced that the Zack Snyder’s director’s cut of the Warner Bros./DC feature film Justice League will be released in 2021 exclusively on HBO Max.
Robert Greenblatt, Chairman, Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer, stated, “Since I got here 14 months ago, the chant to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has been a daily drumbeat in our offices and inboxes. Well, the fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver. At the end of the day, it really is all about them and we are beyond excited to be able to release Zack’s ultimate vision for this film in 2021. This could never have happened if it weren’t for the hard work and combined efforts of the teams at HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures.”
What exactly is the Snyder Cut?
There is relatively little known about the Snyder’s cut of Justice League. HBO Max’s release is the first confirmation that the cut really existed. Some speculation about the cut is that it maybe three and a half hours long. There is no weird Superman Henry Cavill CGI mustache.
